Am i too dependent??? not self sufficient enough?!

Question: Am i too dependent.?.?.? not self sufficient enough.?
Okay so i was talking to my friend i made from my soccer team. she is 15 or 16 years old and says she has to buy her own clothes since she was like 11, pays for her own cleats and stuff, pays for her friends birthday party gifts, finds her own rides and has a job. totally self sufficient. When she told me this i was in shock. My parents pay for everything! im 14 and dont have a job and dont plan for one until im 17/18. My parents give me money whenever i go out, cook my meals, buy my clothes. i feel so childlike- now that i notice it. my parents plan everything for me, drive me everywhere. is this like what everyone does because my friends at school are like me! am i too dependent.? Answers:
Nope. Enjoy your free ride while you still have it. Focus on school and sports, one day your parents will be the one who are dependent on you, so you'll pay them back. You might want to try making a few new meals with your friends or family so that you know how to cook if you ever need it, and find some odd jobs to do to pay for some extra clothes or whatever you want to spend it on. Don't be in such a rush to become an adult.... it gets to be boring really quickly.Health Question & Answer

You're not too dependent at all. You are only 14! You should be having fun with your friends and enjoying life, school, and sports. It is great that your parents are there for you! Just keep staying a kid, k.? You aren't too dependent, becoming more and more independent will gradually come as you get older. You don't need a job right now if you don't want one. :o) You are fine.
