if you go to the emergency room for a suicide attempt what is the 1st thing they do. also what do they do if your brought into the emergency room if you are just cutting yourself.
i'm asking this because ilike 5 minutes ago my mother called the kaiser permanente emergency room on me cuz she seen my arm and found i was cutting myself and she's all saying i'mthreateningg suicide. First, they will check your wounds to see if it needs some disinfectant or stitches. If it's not serious or deep, they won't keep you in the hospital, but if it is, you probably have to stay overnight.
Then, they will recommend you to talk to a counselor. Most likely, they will ask if you would like to talk one of their own counsellor or psychiatrist. There are some doctors though who will only lecture you on your cutting or suicidal intentions and discharge you from the hospital.
It's your own choice to seek help for your cutting tendencies, but just know that your mother is worried. No matter how much you hate her, her action shows that she at least cares.Health Question & Answer
