Question: Will VGLI pay my wife if i commit suicied..?
I have a diagnosis of PTSD from two differnt deployments to Iraq. I dont want to live anymore , however i am affraid of taking my life before i know how many beifits I can give my wife and children....i should have died over there.... My marraige has disolved....can someone tell me if suicide from suffering PTSD is a ligitamit claim PLEASE AND THANK YOUHealth Question & Answer

First I want to thank you for all of your services over in Iraq. I'm sure that must have been an extremely hard situation to be put it. But please do not destroy your family by taking your life. Although your marriage has been dissolved, their are so many ways to resolve it. Your children most likely love you unconditionally and they would never want you to do that. There are so many therapists you can see for PTSD, and your medical benefits from the army most likely will cover it. Just think about it, life is such a precious thing and your family loves you, you have children and a wife to live for. God Bless.Health Question & Answer
nothing is worth you killing yourself for i know you are feeling really down but try talking to your wife and going to see a doctor there are meds you can take to help you , if you had tried some meds and they are not working then you are not taking the right ones and if your doc is not helping you then see another doc. also if your marrage is not the same thing that can happen maybe its time to move on and and let her do the same. I really can not tell you what to do but try to find out what will make you happy. but do not t kill yourself that is never the answer. think you r your children they need there daddy.Health Question & Answer
No they will not pay anything, then your family will be stuck with all the expenses. I wanted to kill myself once, but as you can see I'm still here and everything in my life got so much better...you have kids that need you, kids grow up everyday without fathers that were killed in car wreaks, war, even accidence's but its never easy for a kid to deal with a parent committing suicide they wind up blaming themselves what could they have done, why did they leave me.? please don't be selfish enough to think that your not needed in life. it always gets better, be strong and kick your way through it, things will get better :) take care dear, and remember you are needed.Health Question & Answer
Suicide is never the answer. Isn't there someone you can talk to .? I know the military has counselors you can talk to. Think of how tragic it would be for your children to grow up without their Dad.

Dont EVER think you deserved to die over there. You didnt. Your family needs you. Your children need you. It would break your kids heart if you did this. You really should get a therapist to talk to. Dont do anything rash. People do need you. Your family needs you. Health Question & Answer
