What's Wrong With Me (10 Points Best Answer)?!

Question: What's Wrong With Me (10 Points Best Answer).?
Ok, I'm in the 10th grade, and I'm 15. In school, or in general, whenever we learn something I try to really analyze it down to as simple as it gets.

Most people I know don't do this, they're fine with just learning something and then remembering it. But, if I learn something, like electrons have a negative charge, I want to know why. Then I get a basic explanation. Then I want a deeper explanation, like what causes it, etc.

I know that may seem normal, but it never ends..I keep wanting more explanations for the explanations I get. I don't have time at all to actually find out the answers, but that's my way of thinking, and it's kind of annoying when to me because I never find out, and I feel like I don't really get it, more like I just memorized a fact.

Is this normal...? Lol, am I even smart if I don't really know all the explanations down to the core and just know random facts.? If there are explanations I'll get them, but people never really give me an explanation as far as it goes.

Like, I've researched a lot about diet and fitness, so if I learn that a carbohydrate with a high glycemic index is beneficial after a workout, I know that it's because it causes an insulin spike, I know why the insulin spike is caused, and I know why an insulin spike is good at some times.Health Question & Answer

Nothing is wrong with you. You want to learn and you're so motivated to find the answer. That is so encouraging. You're going to love college if you're not already there. The profs have a more in-depth knowlege about their subjects than HS teachers.

You would make an excellent researcher because you have the curiosity to find out how things work.

Maybe you feel unstimulated in your classes right now because your teachers aren't able to answer for in-depth questions. I am sure they are telling you that your questions are beyond the scope of the course.

Don't worry you will able to find the answer later by either doing research if you can or asking some expert or when you get to college and take science courses and the profs will love to answer your questions.

You're way ahead of most of the students in the class. Not too many students are that interested in their courses.

You're already an expert in diet & fitness. Be patient. You will eventually find out why things happen in time. Maybe not during the high school course but later when you think about it will come to you like a lightbulb why you had to do something in grade 9 biology. Be confident that you don't know all the answers but you will know later when you have more time or when you take advance courses.

You will make an excellent scientist or researcher. Keep learning and building your knowlege on your own will make things easier later. Follow what your interests are.Health Question & Answer

Ok course it's normal! It's just means your smart, and that you like learning! And it might mean you will become a teacher one day! Did you just ask this question to get people to tell you your smart.?.?.?
Hope I helped!

Meh... what IS normal.?.? I'm exactly the same. I want answers to all. Keep on your quest for knowledge and maybe try to seek out and spend time with like minded people. Don't worry about being 'normal' and fitting in!Health Question & Answer

It's nothing wrong with you. You are more like me, I want to know the reason why things happen. I know it exist, but how and why.? This is good, but don't let people even myself be the reason you come to an conclusion, find out information for yourself. Even when you are taught by the teachers, they can't stand in front you and tell you anything, they must take you to the text so that you can see it for yourself.Health Question & Answer

I don't understand your question. There is nothing inherently wrong with wanting to know what anything is about. Just memorizing the material and regurgitating it out is of little use except to pass a test. It serves you well to understand the workings of as many things in life as possible. These core blocks of understanding will allow further grasps in learning to be easier. So ask away and learn as much as you can for in the long run of life understanding what you are seeking is far more important than to just file away material.Health Question & Answer

I'm 15 and in the 10th grade as well
I have a similar problem. I'm always asking myself WHY.?
Well let me tell you you'll soon find yourself in infinite regress on most things and it will drive you nuts.
The problem I have it that I start to piss my teachers off :( oh well
As for the math, I don't get the reasoning either (eg. radicals) but I still want to know why. (For the record, I hate radicals.)

The fact that you and I are both on yahoo answers shows shows a greater intellectual depth. Just know, that explanations change over time so don't kill yourself trying to figure something out right down to the letter.

Now to answer your question, I don't think anything is wrong with you, you just have a thirst for knowledge and answers and don't take things at face value and you want to investigate things. In addition, you may be intellectually gifted, and that's cool. ALTHOUGH unlikely these things could also be possible signs of asperger's syndrome (nothing wrong with that) or prehaps obsessive compulsiveness (ADD but i doubt it)
Just chill don't worry about it be who you are it's cool, there's nothing wrong with you, because mind you, there's no such thing as an exact "normal"
Word of advice, just don't piss your teachers or peers off with a salvo of questions... cause that could hurt you possibly. -trust me I know
