Do i have learning disorder?!

Question: Do i have learning disorder.?
currently i study in monash doing electrical engineering.So here's the story.All student in this course are totally smart and they do well in test.
I think i am the only black sheep.The main reason is because i do very badly in my test compare to the other student, and i am LONER,INTROVERTED person.The bloody part is i only get 1/40 or 2.5/100 in a subject called switching electronic.
I am also hell slow in my study and feel like not taking part in the class as i have no any idea about what am i learning.There are a lot of formula to apply with tricky integration.I feel like quitting this course but i really interested in electric and electronic.
The main thing is i feel totally like a failure and i am shame to be born in this world.WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I HAVE THIS DISORDER.?please help me before i commit suicide..

No one can really diagnose if you have a learning disorder or not, by what you have stated. I felt the same exact way that you did, about everything. I felt I was stupid, ashamed to having been born, I am a loner, and am introverted. I still feel that way. When I first started college two years ago, I could not do a simple fraction. I knew I was stupid in math and knew I was not born to be able to comprehend it. I absolutely HATED math and felt that I had a math learning disability. I sent my professor an e-mail telling her how stupid I was and she suggested tutoring and adopting an I CAN DO THIS attitude. I decided to try what my professor suggested and ask for help. I absolutely HATED that part. I went into the math lab, but felt out of place, because I am really shy and stupid in math, I went to the library and got a couple different textbooks on the same subject and rewrote my notes a lot with lots of practice problems. I went online to a lot of math sites. I saved them under my favorites and spent time with them everyday. Try and find helper sites for your problem areas. I too always felt everyone else was smarter in the class, than I was and I still often do, but you are there for you and not them. You are paying to go to school so who cares what they think. Still I know the feeling that everyone is smarter than you. I still have that. But, remember that after you leave that school/class you may never see them again. Make an appt with your professor and talk to him/her. Maybe she/he can point you in the right direction. You also do need to adopt a better and more positive attitude. It does work. Math has become one of my favorite subjects. It took me a couple years for me to realize it, but I know that only I can change the way I feel. If this is an area that interests you, let no one stop you. Good luck....Health Question & Answer

Your brain just wasn't wired to have an aptitude for learning that particular subject matter. You need to find what you are best at and apply your learning abilities towards that. It may be difficult if not nearly impossible to change courses now, but you will be much happier in life because of it. I worked in a bank most of my lfe and I was miserable.I finally got the courage to try restaurant work, which I really enjoyed, and was never happier. I only wished that I had done it years before.Health Question & Answer

Maybe you are taking a course that is too complicated for you or maybe you are getting distracted from your studies. SOmething is going on here. You were accepted into the course so you had to have qualified. You can talk to a cousellor at the school to help you find your path. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

Perhaps you are putting too much pressure on youself because you feel like you are so far behind. Take one or two semesters off to work full time and when you come back you might be able to focus more. Health Question & Answer

Jill, part of the problem is that you keep putting yourself down. You said these things about yourself:
* I'm the black sheep
* I do very badly
* I feel like a failure
* I am ashamed to be born.

These are very negative thoughts to have about yourself. You need to speak to a psychologist and get some therapy to help you take a positive attitude to yourself and your studies.

Go to the student counselling service at the University and get some help.

Good luck.Health Question & Answer

Maybe you could get someone, perhaps one of the other students who seems to understand the subject better to coach you. You may have just gotten behind early on and it is now hard to catch up. Or possibly you are not good in this particular subject. It could be it is not suited for your intellect. When I was in school, I was excellent in art, but I couldn't understand algebra to save my life. You don't have a learning disorder. This subject just may not be your cup of tea. If coaching doesn't help, then change your course and don't consider yourself a failure. also get some advice from a school counselor. lolHealth Question & Answer

hi i agree with the other answer on this page,sometimes things can be overwhelming thats all and if you have more on your mind it might be hard to concentrate,maybe a tutor could help ,its ok not to get things straight away please dont quit the course i feel your outlook must change first for things to start going differently and getting better for you,if you open up to possibilities around you,thinks are difficult in everyones life talking to someone helps,maybe think about a councellor,people learn at different paces,identifiy the areas most difficult and work on them more or study with people,try making some friends with the same interests as you,when you feel alone things always seem worse open up more to people,join activities,and make friends with others in your class and they can help,please dont say negative things to yourself ,remember like attracts like,whatever you are going through please talk to someone so you can change you life for the better best wishes to youHealth Question & Answer

I have to agree with the first poster. The fact that you feel the need to asking for help here is the first step. Not Knowing what else is happening in your life to add to all this but talking to someone who has a better understanding and training in this field is a much better idea then asking help from a question and answer website.
There nothing wrong with seeing a trained Professional as half the population is going through problems and seeking help and the other half should go and seek help. I hope you do see someone and I wish you all the best of luck.Health Question & Answer

sometimes it be take a while for things to click into place when studying anything, give yourself a break stop putting yourself down plenty of students at uni struggle with new concepts. Try using google to check as much as you can about the dreaded circuit switching as some sites might have easier to understand wording than your teacher or texts over 11,000 results when you put it in google! Nothingn is worth killing yourself over - some people would prefer to take a year or two away from the subject and go back when you are more settled. Health Question & Answer
