I think it depends on if you're medicated or not. My late mother had bipolar disorder but wasn't treated until it was too late. Before that she was spontaneous, financially irresponsible, and we had to move a lot. My mom tried to be friends with me and my sister, rather than a mother. She made a lot of mistakes and even though she loved us very much, we learned the wrong things about romantic relationships and intimacy, money, how to deal with problems, and other important decision-making.Health Question & Answer
It could because your mood changes so quickly that the child may not know what is going on and they may not know and they would think that it is their fault for your mood changes and then it would make you feel as if your a bad parent. also, if going untreated you may never know what you are going to do and you may live in fear which is not a way to bring up a child.
