Start a food journal. Everytime you go to eat something write down the date, time, what you are eating, how much of it you are eating, and how you are feeling/what your mood is at that time.

You will notice a pattern that certain moods trigger the response that makes you want to eat emotionally. When this is recognized, you can replace eating with a different behavior; like calling a friend, drinking a big glass of water, etc.

Well, it's a good thing you realize that you are doing it, and the fact that you ate Subway rather than a bunch of junk is good also. It's not so bad to have comfort food once in awhile, but it becomes a problem when you eat every time you are the least bit uncomfortable emotionally. Just watch what you are doing, and when you find yourself in the kitchen, ask yourself when you last ate, and if you really need to be eating again. Find other activities, take a bath, watch a movie, just stay out of the kitchen.Health Question & Answer

Emotional eating is hard to deal with.

If you ever have the urge to stuff your face with food CHOOSE HEALTY FOODS! also, just chew on a stick of gum or eat a ton of veggies/fruits...

You could also try to replace eating with something else that you enjoy to do. I hope this helped =3Health Question & Answer
