Is this GED counselor ignoring me or am I overanalyzing?!

Question: Is this GED counselor ignoring me or am I overanalyzing.?
I emailed the vocational school here in my city and got in contact VIA email with the counselor that controls the alternative/GED programs at the vocational school here.

I told her my situation and why I dropped out because of social anxiety and other things. She tells me that my city doesnt have GED classrooms for people under 20 years old. Then she says that there may be a waiver that I will need to have filled out and signed by a parent and signed by the principal at my old school. She tells me that she has a waiver if I need one and says there are GED classes in my cities area and says "maybe I can get you going in the right direction". She then tells me about a HSC program where you attend school with them and earn a diploma through the vocational school.

She emails me one time and asked for a phone number so she can talk to my mom and dad and that they would need to sign for me to go GED. I asked her if it was for GED classes and she said she wasnt sure.

Afterwards I waited about 4 days and I still didnt hear anything and then emailed her back asking if she "heard anythin" and she told me that "there is atleast one program, and I'll send you the details tommorow... and I havent talked to Mr. _____ but I will". I then asked her what the program was for and she said GED.

So I waited and waited and I emailed her twice over a 3 week period and I never got no response so I gave up. Then about two months later, I emailed her yesterday asking if she heard anything yet and suprisingly she responded and says "I take it noone got back with you... sorry! I asked our assistant to send you some information..." and then says "On tuesday call Ms. _____ 755-**** and she will give you the information you need. I still need to get a release from Mr. _______ at Everett, but if you stop in my office next week, thursday....i'll have you fill out a release form...." and then tells me the directions to get to her office and to come before 2:00pm. I emailed her back and told her that my b-day was next thursday and i'll be 17 and then I told her my dad would call Ms. _____ on tuesday and asked her what the release form was for and asked if the release form was for GED and asked if the women knows about me and if shes expecting my dads phone call.

SHE EMAILS ME BACK AND SAYS "THATS OKAY YOUR DAD CAN CALL and then asks WHEN ARE U GOING TO BE 17.?" Like HELLO I just told you. She never even answered my questions. I emailed her back and told her I was going to be 17 next thursday and asked if my parents have to fill out the release form and asked if im allowed to take GED classes there as long as I have a parent signature and told her that she told me the classes were for people 20 and over. Then she emails me back and her reply was "ok"

IM SO CONFUSED! Like wth!.? Is she ignoring me or am I overreacting.?

She ignored me for like 3 weeks and never responded. Were they just busy with schedule changes and stuff since the school year just started.?

Maybe the lady she told me to call on Tuesday will tell me all the info about the GED classes.? I would feel so embaressed calling and they wont know anything about why im calling. The schools here are so unorganized LOL

BTW i'm 16 turning 17. I dropped out because of social anxiety. I was only in the 9th grade :(Health Question & Answer

Answers:
It doesn't sound like she's ignoring you at all, so don't worry. It DOES sound like she has way too much on her hands. Don't just sit back and wait for her to solve everything, it's obvious that for whatever reason, she's not competent enough to help you out. Try talking to someone else so you can get things going - better yet, have your parents call and e-mail; I suspect things will go faster if that happens.

Good luck. I dropped out at 16 as well, hopefully everything works out for you.Health Question & Answer
