What causes people to sometimes overanalyze something?!

Question: What causes people to sometimes overanalyze something.?
Sometimes I overanalyze things way too much.

For instance, I emailed this counselor at this vocational school to take GED classes. She told me everything to do and it was understanding to me. Then she ignored me for like a month and then I emailed her yesterday and she responded. She then gave me a phone number to call on tuesday and have her assistance tell me details about the GED programs. Then the counselor wants me to come in thursday to fill out a form.

Some emails were exchanged after that and I was questioning her about my age because i'm 17 and in a older email she told me that the vocational school doesnt have GED classes for people under 20 but wasnt sure and then she told me she wanted my phone number to talk to my mom or dad.

Right now since she ignored me twice in the emails from yesterday and today i'm so confused because I overanalyzed everything to the point that nothing makes sense. My mind is so cloudy and confused now! Is it because anxiety or something.?

I dropped out of school last yearbecause I have social anxiety. I was only in the 9th grade :( I was hoping to take GED classes this year and get my GED while i'm still young.Health Question & Answer

That's a tough call...my suggestion is to have your dad call or have him come with you possibly to the first appointment, that way he can help with questions you may not think of or he can help you understand things that are more complexHealth Question & Answer

Call every phone number related to your problem and write down what you hear and the name of who said it so you can structure and organize your approach with all the varied information you get.

Incidentally, did you call all the local middle schools or high schools to see if you can enroll and proceed in the usual grade-by-grade manner.? And see if you can get an appointment with a high school counselor and present the question to him. They know the system, Health Question & Answer
