Different people will tell you different things. I personally don't believe prayer is going to help something like that. You could pray for the strength, courage, and prayer to work through your bipolar disorder, but again, that is a matter of your faith. I don't know what you believe.
People who are afflicted with bipolar disorder never get "rid" of it, they just learn how to deal with it better through treatment. Of course the severity of the disorder probably will dictate the type of treatment you will receive.
Therefore, what I do know is, that with proper treatment (counseling, psychotherapy, and probably medication) you will learn the coping mechanisms and skills to live with your disorder. Health Question & Answer

Why are you asking this on yahoo answers.? Thats like asking if God exists. There is no Official right or wrong answer. Scientifically it cannot help because bipolar disorder is caused by a chemical unbalance. But if praying makes you feel better there is no harm in praying. No, you need to be on medication and stay on the medication.
I do not want to say anything against the help of prayer, but being bipolar is a chemical imbalance in your system that has to be corrected.

Hun, i used to not believe in jesus or God for the longest time. after all this schizophrenia caught up with me, i needed help from a higher being and turned to him. My life has made a turn for the better now, but i still take my medicine and do therapy. God will help you if you ask him to, but you have to also help yourself :)

not alone....but combine it with the proper meds and a psychiatrist who follows your religion does......trust me, get spiritual AND human help and the bipolar will be much easier to deal with....good luck!Health Question & Answer
