A couple I thought I knew quite well recently told me they have a suicide pact. If things get too tough to dealwith they're just going to end it all together.
When they told me I was frankly quite shocked. We all have difficult times, now I feel I have to keep one eue on them to make sure they're coping, when I have problems in my own life to sort out.

It's not your problem. If they mean it you won't stop them and if they are attention seeking, why should you worry and feel responsible.
Usually, people who tell people they might commit suicide don't mean it.

Suicide "pacts" are dangerous things. Suicidal thoughts are a very personal issue that should not be made light of.
However, there is nothing that YOU should feel responsible for. It is not up to you to ensure that other people are coping or managing their lives or relationships. Short of being there for them when they need a shoulder to cry on or to vent their feelings to a supportive friend, this is not your problem.
I would be honest with your friends and tell them that their confession about this disturbed you and that you really don't want to be a party to this detail of their lives. Tell them that it made you feel pressured to feel responsible for them and take on their problems. Expressing openly how you feel in non-blaming terms is the key to communication and true intimacy/friendship.Health Question & Answer

Get connected by faith with God Almighty who made us, life will be delightful and meaningful. Why not try it.?
God loves you, and you are precious to Him. The Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation, and qualifying us to Heaven. That's not selfish at all. You need to explain to them that suicide won't take away the pain at all, it will hurt their friends and family and they will end up in Hell. Please don't take this the wrong way; the Bible says "Your body is a temple".Health Question & Answer
