Question: My Mom Won't Let Me Go To The Doctor, Why.?
I've been seriously depressed for months, it gets worse by the day, I finally asked my mom to take me to the doctor to either recommend a psychiatrist or to prescribe anti-depressants, and she said she'd make me an appointment. That was a month ago, I brought it up yesterday and she said that "If I get out of the house more often, I'd be fine." But I'm almost never home, I'm usually out driving around, should I just take myself to the doctor.? I'm 17 and I'm not sure if I can without parental consent.Health Question & Answer

Feeling this way is no fun especially at your age when you should be at the heigth of enjoying your life.
Do you have another parent in your life ,grandparents, someone.? How about a councelor at school.?
If this continues or you fear what you are thinking go to your family physician and ask just to talk or go to your ER and tell them you need someone to talk to and it's important maybe then they can find someone to help you.
also call a crisis hotline and talk talking is one of the best medicines out there.

you usually cannot just go to a doctor without parental consent, but you can call a crisis hotline in your area. they can hook you up with things you can do and how the laws work in your area about minors seeing a doctor without parental permission.
