Would you say I have relapsed? ?!

Question: Would you say I have relapsed.? .?
First, I am bipolar. I am supposed to be taking meds, but haven't been in about a week and a half because of the drinking. (as you know you're not supposed to drink on meds)

I started a job a month and a half ago... (this is my 14th job in my 28 years, btw). It started off great, I was on top of the world. Everything was perfect. But, then the depression hit and it hit hard.

I have been sober for 4 years. "Have been" are the key words here. I suddenly started drinking about 3-4 alcoholic drinks a night... until I can't walk anymore. (call me a light weight... but I don't weigh 110 soaking wet).

I started doing it because of the pressures of work and home (the home thing is a long story, so I will spare you).

I have begun an all around self destructive path. I never thought I would go down this road again, as I am (or was a recovering addict). But, here I sit. I am on my 3rd coors and I know what I am doing is wrong.

Am I in a depressive relapse.? How the hell do I come out of this.? I feel like everything is spiraling downwards. I want to quit my job. I want to be alone. I am sick of everything.

Sorry if this is just a ramble and a stupid question. I just need to know where to go from here because I feel like a lost cause.

TY for reading.

Answers:
This does sound like a relapse into depression -- or just a lot of anxiety from starting that new job.

Start taking your meds again now. And call the doctor who is prescribing them for you and get an appointment as soon as you can.Health Question & Answer

Get back on the meds, even if you can't stop the drinking. A friend of mine has been on SSRIs for the last decade and still drinks half a bottle of wine a day. I think the alcohol dampens the effect, but it's better than taking nothing at all.
