I have been on Lamictal. While only a doctor can make this decision on what to do, I decided to write to you because I had many problems with medications. In fact, my doctor had tried multiple trials on different classes of meds. I started to feel like it was me, but I really tired to hang in there. My doctor would tell me what I can experience and than make the call to adjust to change the drug. Please, I know this is very frustrating, but this is not uncommon. Some people respond very well to these meds and others, like me, have to keep trying. I will not lie to you, for me, it has been very hard to keep trying a different medication, but I have a good doctor that didn't give up. It's important that you keep communicating with you doctor. Everyone has a different reaction to these medications and sometimes it takes a few to get to the one that helps. Don't give up. Hang in there. You will get better.

See your doctor or who ever is controlling your medication. They might change your dosages and if that don't work then they may change your medication. Right now I'm on Zyprexa 20mg once a day and Depakote ER 500 mg 4 times a day. So far so good but it took me a long time to get the right set up with medication. It took about 6 to 8 weeks before I started feeling better with the medications. This is also for bipolar and things are good, but you still have really bad days. Health Question & Answer

I use lamictal, but I use it alongside several other antidepressants: wellbutrin, and effexor. It took a lot of trial and error to get the right mixture of meds and the right dosages, but once everything 'mixed' right, I was a new person. Believe me, before that I was a mess. You and your doc may have to try some different meds until you find just the right one. It will be worth it. Hang in there.Health Question & Answer
