Mental illness - do you think there will ever be a cure?!

Question: Mental illness - do you think there will ever be a cure.?
Sometimes I still get depressed even though I still take my medication.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I think rather than a cure, people will learn how to manage their illness through therapy and medication. If an illness can be managed, that is almost as good as a cure. Medication doesn't cure the illness, it only helps one manage it. If your madication isn't working for you, maybe you should tell your doctor. I have had to change my meds 5-6 times in the last ten years. I have learned that others have had to do the same. And again, the meds are a tool, not a solution - the solution comes from within.Health Question & Answer

i no how you feel,
i have been on 8 different types of medication,
hospitalized 4 times
and ive seen 11 different psychologist and psychiatrist
all by the age of 15
and im worse now then when i started.

i honestly believe there isn't.
sorrry,
that's just my opinion.Health Question & Answer

No. I don't think a cure will ever a rise. Medication takes the "edge" off of depression, it does or will not stop it. You just have to be realistic, realize that life will probably never be the fairy tale you wanted. Enjoy life, but don't set yourself up for failure.Health Question & Answer

Truthfully, no. I don't think there will ever be a "cure". However, i do think medicines will much improve over time and having a mental illness won't be a big deal at all anymore.Health Question & Answer

Not completely b/c everyone has a little mental illness in them, some have a lot. Although maybe one day they will come up for a cure for depression or bipolar disorder.Health Question & Answer

The only cure is loving yourself, accepting yourself, and educating yourself as much as your mental selves will allow you to do!! God loves us ALL no matter what-but HE looks into our hearts for our intent..Peace.Health Question & Answer
