Yes about three years ago and it was a nightmare as I was not ready to come off of them. Because Venlafaxin is such a powerful drug to come off of them can cause awful withdrawal symptoms if not done in a tapered manner. My advice get support from GP and family to help you through this time.

I ended up having to go back onto effexor as I became quite ill but I was weaned off of them evetually and given Setraline which suited me much better. I was able to come off of them after 6 months without any withdrawal symptoms.

Unfixing is an evil drug and speaking for myself I think that they ought to be withdrawn from use.Health Question & Answer

i was weaned off by my Dr.I was fine for 5-6months, then depression came back, crying for no reason, no interest in anything, hate myself, etc.
So my Dr quickly put me back on Effexor.I think i would have to take something anyway, something was never quite right when i was small.
Like something missing from my diet or a hormone imbalance.?
Its ok, i will live with it if i have to.Health Question & Answer

My brother in law did, and he was close to suicide over it. The doctor had to prescribe another medication to get him off the dependency, and wean him slowly back to freedom.Health Question & Answer

Yes, nasty drug it is. I've taken just about everything out there & this one was the worst to get off of. I was shaky, sweaty, & had a few panic attacks while getting off it. Good luck.Health Question & Answer
