Question: How can i make myself stop feeling down.?
I want to know what are some good strategies that can make someone stop feeling down and sad. For the past day today i haven't been happy one bit, So much stuff went on today that messed with my emotions and made me down. I want to be happy again. well if the depression is caused by a reason u know of then try to avoid thinking about it and try to go out with friends as much as u can try occuping yourself at most times and try to not be alone, but ont eh other side if u dont know y u feel that way and its a chemical imbalancement then thats when u need to get help from a doctor, good luck hope this helped

I don't know about you, but for me, I came to the frustrating conclusion that it wasn't anything external making me unhappy. I eventually fixed what was eating away at my soul, and after a time, fell back into depression again, except this time about other things. I've decided that I must have a chemical imbalance, and am seeing a professional about it very soon.

If this is the first time you've ever felt this way, then you should try to find positive things to do that will overpower these feelings. Exercise, accomplish something rewarding, or else if you're unhappy about something specific, then tell yourself that you can fix it - believe that you can, and then set about the task of doing so. If you don't then you're definitely going to be right about not being able to fix it, right.?

So why win.? Why let youself tell yourself these irrational things.? I ought to know, I'm an expert at telling myself irrational things and letting my dark self win - but I'm still trying after 10 years of this crap. I'm going to get professional help because honestly, if I keep like this I'm going to lose my job, and where would I be then.? A whole lot worse off with actual real problems in stead of my made up ones.

For me, many times I could find the actual root cause of what had me down - I'd be hungry, or I'd be bored, or I'd just be tired. Realizing this, and dealing quickly with it has staved off many bouts with this, but I don't always catch it in time.Health Question & Answer
