Do you think I have depression?!

Question: Do you think I have depression.?
Right... Hopefully this will be my last one on depression.
I've looked through websites and everything and I do suffer from most of the stuff on there but I'm still not sure.
I have no idea what to say to my mother. I know the conversation will go like this...
Me: Mum, I think I have depression.
Mother: No you don't , stop being stupid.
Me: This is why I never tell you anything... You don't understand!
I can just see it happen... She wont listen to me I know it. And I never tell her anything cause she thinks I'm just tying to get attention. I'm really ugly and insecure, let people walk all over me and I think that's why I feel like this. But since I've had sh!t since I was in infant school it's gradually got worse for me and now I'm in high school life seems unbearable. The only thing stopping me kill myself is my family falling apart.

Do I need serious help.?
I'm so confused.Health Question & Answer

Dear Faye

How old are you.? I am really sorry you are feeling so down and you feel you can't speak to your mum. Is there someone you can talk to in school a Learning Mentor or a trusted teacher/ Is there an other adult you can speak to in the family. Have you any brothers or sisters. Maybe your mum feels she has let you down or is unsure what to say. It may be hormonal see your doctor. Please don't do anything stupid like taking your life or even attempting to it may go wrong. To me you still seem to be thinking quite rationale considering your family and using the internet to research depression. However not all advice on the web is useful. Please let me know how you get on.

Find someone to listen to you !Health Question & Answer

Do you have a school nurse - go and speak to her. Or you could speak to your form tutor. The Samaritans (08457 909090) are always on the other end of the phone to talk to and they are brilliant. You can also make an appointment to speak with your doctor without your parents if you don't feel you can speak to them right now. DO speak to somebody very soon. There is help there for you. Good luck :-)Health Question & Answer

hey my mum was the same i couldnt tell her anything but one time i just broke down so she sent me to the docs but she still doesnt seem to get that i have depression she thinks that it will disappear but it doesnt so u have to go and find someone you can confide in and tell them how u feel and if u go see a doctor try and get talking therapy cause personally i wouldnt recommend going on antideppresants as i have been on them for a year and untill they get the one that suits you most they muck your head up even more
