Question: Is OCD Cureable.? Agree or disagree.?
I agree -- I had a really rough 3 years and talked to a therapist at my school that told me to try ignoring or "quitting" one of my habits a week at a time until all the obsession is gone. I really think that it can be cured without medications or doctors, all you need is a little will power and self control! I can now do the dishes, clean the house, take a shower, ...most everything in peace! (a year later) :-)Health Question & Answer

If you had asked around an year earlier I would have said yes, its curable but now I doubt it. I have a guy friend of mine who suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or OCD. He was almost cured from this illness but his disorder again started after few months of silent period. At that time he did not consult any psychiatrist and was not on any medication but was on therapy, some kind of classes where they teach you how to control yourself & all those. I don't know much about the therapy & classes. After few months of silent period his problem started more than what was before. Now he has consulted a psychiatrist and is on medicines and is behaving very normal.Health Question & Answer
I don't think any mental illness is cureable - however I believe they are all treatable and with the right therapy/medication the symptoms can disappear near completely. I'm bipolar 2 and with my medications you'd hardly notice. :)Health Question & Answer
I don't think it's completely curable, but there are ways to manage the condition and lessen anxiety. Talk therapy and medications are effective treatments. Health Question & Answer
