I am on 10mg of lexapro now for severe depression. If I am having three really?!

Question: I am on 10mg of lexapro now for severe depression. If I am having three really.?
depressing days in a row, could that be a sign that it is not working. I have been taking it for three months now. I have had sad days before on it but I bounce back the next day. It has been three days now for me. Is this normal.? If I went to my MD doctor who gave it to me will he change my meds or will he just up my dosage.? Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I take Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, and Lexapro (10 mg) in the evening, for depression and anxiety. I've been taking that for over a year and a half, and it's working very well for me.

The Wellbutrin SR seems to help me to be more alert and active - and wanting to do things - while the Lexapro makes me more mellow, and it helps me sleep better, too.

You might ask your doc about the Wellbutrin SR, I take the generic version - and doesn't cost so much.

Best of Luck to You :-)

I was put on 10 mg Lexapro for anxiety and depression. After 2 months, i was still feeling bad, but a little better. They increased my dosage to 20 mg and it made a world of difference. After about 3 or 4 days, I could feel the difference. I would think your doctor would increase your dosage, if you've shown improvement on it. If you've only been on it for 3 days, then it's still just trying to get in your system. Within 2 weeks, you should be feeling better. Health Question & Answer

If you are taking anti-depressants (which work to elevate seratonin levels in your brain), and they are not enough--you are still not feeling happy, content, or at peace-- you may have low endorphins. Endorphins are an opiate, and effect your brain the way that morphine does (morphine is also an opiate). It is the chemical responsible for "runners high".
