Why no withdrawal from anti depressant?!

Question: Why no withdrawal from anti depressant.?
So many times and so many places I read about these horrible withdrawals from anti-depressants. I took welbutrin for many months and never was told to taper off, and I felt nothing. Maybe I am one of the lucky ones.? Do most people really have a hard time with it, or is it exaggerated.?Health Question & Answer

It's very much dependant on the actual drug - paroxetine (seroxat) and venlafaxine (efexor) are two of the worst and have recognised withdrawal syndromes which can be very severe. To be honest, I think a lot of people who come off other drugs are just exaggerating it.Health Question & Answer

For a couple antidepressants there is bad withdraw. (Paxil i think is one of the worst) However most do not at all. Wellbutrin does not. Most of them are not addictive meds like people assume.

However you should always be tapered off psych meds. Some have bad side effects if you just suddely drop off them. Not withdraw and additction. Just changing brain chemestry too rapidly

also depends on the person. Some people can handle changing rapidly, while others cant.Health Question & Answer

For some people it i worse than with others but it doesnt last long and they are mild n comparison with narcotics. Doctors and drug companies like to cover all their base. Everyone has a different tolerance level.Health Question & Answer
