Question: I have been really withdrawn these last couple of months how.?
do i reintegrate into society without feeling weird or anxious around other people.?
Well since i left college (UK) in July I have barely been out (live in rural wales) ain't much transport or anything to do & don't don't have many friends so I really don't get out much & because I didn't go back to college (UK) in September I have barely been out these 4 months except when I went to visit family & I was out everyday. but other than that I barely get out & feel isolated & weird now & it's doing my nut in.
how can I reintegrate without seeming a weirdo as when i'm out & about i tend to stare at the floor & find when i'm on my own & someone is walking towards me I have to look at my mobile or Ipod or stare blank past them.
any techniques to calm me down & make me normal again.?Health Question & Answer

Is there a pub nearby.? Try going one night a week and engaging only ONE person in conversation. Do things ONE at a time--one conversation, one night, one drink. Then next time you go, do TWO of everything. Keep it up for a while, until you feel comfortable in these groups, then expand your group by one again.
Don't think you're alone--you're not. A lot of people feel very isolated. Try joining a Yahoo group or two--something that will spark a conversation. Try going to a bowling alley (if you have those in rural Wales.?) or a library, or a book club--you don't have to feel pressured to contribute everything right away---just do tiny little increments and work your way up.
Small steps add up. Keep active, keep forcing yourself to go out to where people are--even when you don't contribute. Just do small things and do them one at-at-time. Health Question & Answer
