Question: What would happed if a person who is not depressed takes antidepressants will they feel better.?
Answers:
NO, Dont do it!
There are different types of antidepressants and they work in different ways...

Im on Lexapro and it is classed as an SSRI (selective seratonin re-uptake inhibitor)

Antidepressants ARE NOT HAPPY PILLS.

How they act is by controlling the way your body deals with dopamine and seratonin, it stops these hormones being absorbed by your body too quickly.

If you mess with the equilibrium you may seriously screw yourself up. The chemical balance is fine and delicate.

Note that antidepressants take at least 2 - 4 weeks to work anyway, so there would be no point in popping like 1 tablet. It would only mess with the chemical balance and you wouldnt get anything out of it.

There is also a significant danger of overdosing on antidepressants, seratonin sickness can kill you. This is why you have to go on and off them VERY slowly so your body can adjust.

Seriously, you dont want to end up how I was, and I know that there are people out there who feel even worse than I did.
Health Question & Answer

Probably not. I'm not positive, but I think alot of antidepressants kind of inhibit mood and emotion altogether, not just depression. So while it "relieves" the intense emotions of depression, it doesn't necessarily make these people happy. So it probably wouldn't make a healthy person happy either and might actually make you feel worse.Health Question & Answer

You wouldn't notice any difference. If it did make you feel good drug addicts would be gobbling them up like they were roxies. All that will happen is you would have some of the people get a decreased libido and inability to get an erection. What fun that would be.Health Question & Answer

It won't do anything. Health Question & Answer
