This really wierd mood?!


Question: This really wierd mood.?
I've had depression for 2 years or so. At first, it was a solid night and day low, then i had it every night but not in the day, And now for the last year, I'm utterly mopey and depressed until 10PM. From 10PM, i am giddy, ambitious and talkative. Although, during the day i'm feeling severely low and unable to talk or care how i look, planning ways of escape, irritated, hateful, and usually thinking i'm better off not even being here. BUT THIS IS ONLY during the day. (from 7am to 10pm)

This specific day-only type of depression has been going on for a year.

Is there a name for a depression that hits you at certain periods of time.?

the brains and hormones of teenagers and young adults are wired so that we don't "wake up" until the evening, our sleep hormones don't let us fall asleep at nightfall and wake up early in the morning, it's not the way we work.
even manic depression which is characterized by ups and downs does not fall in such regular patterns or cause such rapid change in mood. it sounds like you have some kind of hormonal swing going on, like your serotonin spikes at night or something and crashes during the day. it doesn't sound like depression to me, it sounds like something chemical. you are letting/wanting labels to be put on you. you are what you think you are. it may be the enviroment you live in. if you really want to conquer this label i would seriously move to a place that has 4 seasons.-blureyHealth Question & Answer

You sound like You are getting up too early. Or getting to bed way too late. or even sleeping TOO MUCH. Your energetic buzz is not kicking in till later at night. SO you feel depressed during the day and hating it... Or there is something about your daily life that sucks. Make a list of what you like and what you hate about your life right now. Then take the things you hate and find something funny about it so you can be cheery about it.
IF it is serious, perhaps consult a doctor.?
If you are on drugs GET THE HELL OFF OF THEM... They totally screw up your dopamine production (Your happy juice) and you get sad.

Exercise releases natural endorphins to increase your mood as well. SO just get up, and go for a swim, hike, WHATEVER>

I used to be a lean mean fightin' machine.. I thought I couldnt get fat.. I sat around for 2 years.. I got freaking fat. I hated me-self blah blah blah. I am now one of the hottest football players =P. Right now I am working towards benching 450ish pounds so i can get into college ball =P

EXERCISE (or just goofin around with buddies outside) is awesome. It gets you happier than whatever.

Get some buddies you can just pour your brain out to. It helps just talking about every single little thing in your life. SOmetimes it helps you realize what is going on. Sometimes your friends can tell you. Overall it is just good to be a social person. =PHealth Question & Answer
