Can chronic anxiety and stress make somebody physically ill daily? ?!

Question: Can chronic anxiety and stress make somebody physically ill daily.? .?
For the past 2 1/2 months I have been going under chronic anxiety and stress/worry every single day.. (Due to waiting for my HIV results, I have to wait another 27 days) Since my exposure in August 20th, I have been having nausea and dizzyness, I was wondering if being anxious/worried/scared every single day since then can make one physically ill.? Please let me know, so I don't drive myself crazy thinking that I'm sick everyday due to HIV or other STDs..Health Question & Answer

Yes absolutely. Because your mind and body are so inter-connected you can worry yourself sick - literally. And the nausea and dizziness could well be symptoms of you being stressed out. So could insomnia, lack of appetite, diarrohea and headaches to name a few more stress symptoms. Because you can't stop thinking about it, try saying out loud over and over "I am well - I am strong - I can get through this" and things like that and say it and really mean it. Positive thinking can really help you. Good luck with your results.Health Question & Answer

Yes. The reason being is because in times of extreme stress, the bodies "fight or flight" drive takes over. When this happens large amounts of Adrenaline are released into the bloodstream. This causes all the more vegetative systems of the body to shunt more blood to the areas of the body that would have to "fight" or take"flight", such as the heart lungs and extremities. Any undigested food gets expelled until the body calms down. Unfortunately this also happens to food already digested which causes the diarrhea. Talk to you doctor about a temporary prescription for something such as clonazepam which will help to depress the central nervous system enough to calm the problems. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....
