I think my religion allowed me to view myself and all humans as worthy of a better life. It encouraged me to get the counseling I needed. It did not, however, cure me, but pushed me in the right direction. I think its dangerous to think of religion as a magic answer to the our problems. God gave us a brain, and we need to use it!Health Question & Answer
Yes. I was severally bulimic last year- I was throwing up at least 20 times a day. I couldn't stop, and the pressure of my abusive mom made it even harder to try and let go. after two years of fighting it, I decided to pray to God for deliverance. I was immediately released- I don't know if you've ever had an eating disorder, but it is like a trap that grabs onto you and you can't get away. so basically the burden was lifted, and I've been fine ever since :) I am so thankful to my lord and savior. he literally saved my lifeHealth Question & Answer
Not religion, but Jesus did. Today's religion can be just rituals or organized activities, but knowing Jesus personally is what makes the difference. When I struggle emotionally, I just remember a promise from the Bible, such as that I haven't been given a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. Sometimes I just call for help when I feel stumped and something always happens that I know isn't coincidence. Going to church is good, but God's presence is better.Health Question & Answer
