How to confidentially see a psychiatrist?!

Question: How to confidentially see a psychiatrist.?
I'm 19 and I feel like I need to talk to a psychiatrist but I have a few problems with just making an appointment

1) I don't want my parents to know that I went to see a psychiatrist

2)I don't want my parents to know that I spent any money at the Hospital or anything

3)I don't have a lot of money and its not important enough to me where I would spend over 50 bucks to do.

Is there any way I can talk to a psychiatrist for free or how much would it cost and how could I prevent my parents from knowing any of this.? I have a lot of insurance and I've seen several psychiatrists already but I am "cured now" and I don't want my parents to feel like I am crazy "all over again." When I try to make an appointment (voice-automated) they ask for my Kaiser Permanente Medical Card (which I have) but I know my parents will be able to find out. Please help!Health Question & Answer

By law, going to a mental health clinic is confidential. However, you are correct that using insurance would enable your parents to find out. Most mental health clinics have sliding scale fees, often as cheap as $10. If you have something that could be answered within a couple of emails, I will talk with you for free. you could go to a clinic and get some therapy. You don't necessarily need to go to a psychiatrist you can use a psychologist and it would be strictly confidential. They can't tell anyone that you spoke with him/her unless you say so. You can also go to your primary care doctor and ask him/her if they could recommend a someone to talk to and they can not tell your parents. Make up an excuse to go to the dr then talk to them. hope this helps you out little.Health Question & Answer

you need a psycholigst not a psychiatrist. If you are just looking for therapy or someone too talk too. Most states have a human resource center you can go too and you can see a psychologist for almost free. Health Question & Answer
