How can I help an anorexic family member?!

Question: How can I help an anorexic family member.?
I have a relative that used to be alittle overweight, but she started weightwatchers and lost a lot of weight. We were all proud of her, but eventually she started taking it to far and now she is anorexic. She is extremely thin and is losing hair and she is really bony. Her mood is also a lot worse. She constantly yells at everyone, and has to measure food even when she's at someone else's house. How can I help her.? Health Question & Answer

Answers:
She really has to want to help herself. You can help by encouraging her to go to the doctor offering to take her even.
You can be supportive and encouraging when she eats food.
You can try talking to her about it if you feel comfortable talking to her.
It sounds like she really does need to see a doctor though, if she's not seeing one already. Health Question & Answer

Anorexia is often a symptom of someone who is lacking control in their life. In many cases anorexics have very controlling parents. The best thing they can do is back off and let the person live their life. If they want to get help, they will. Health Question & Answer

Get her checked into a clinic.Health Question & Answer
