What is the best place to cut yourself?!

Question: What is the best place to cut yourself.?
I did it on my upper thighs. is this a good place.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I don't mean to be preachy, but in this case I feel I must.

Cutting is a form of self mutilation that's a secondary response to inner conflict. You must ask yourself why you feel the need to hurt yourself physically & use cutting as a form of punishment. You need to speak with a professional to help you better cope with things in more positive & meaningful ways.

Before you cut yourself again, think about this:

- Cutting yourself with an object that isn't completely sterilized in an unsterile environment can lead to a host of infections- some very serious.

- You will no doubt create visible scars that will stay with you for a lifetime. How will you explain this to people who ask about why you have such marks on your body.? One day you'll get past this, but you'll always be reminded of this painful period in your life everytime you look at your body- is it really worth it.?

I know you're going through self loathing right now. You have my word that you will be fine so long as you get the proper help that you need & learn to love yourself.

Um, yes you should walk up to your mom right now & ask for help! Forget the money aspect- many professionals will work on a sliding scale fee. The longer you put off getting help, the longer & more difficult your treatment will be. Did you really come on here expecting a series of debates over which part of the body is better to cut.? I wouldn't take the time out of my day to give you an answer like that.Health Question & Answer

There is no best place. Ever. Cutting is only a temporary relief from the massive pain you feel about... anything and everything. Doing it gives you the illusion of control - however briefly - and stops the pain from having control. Or so it seems. Actually, it's the total opposite.

It would be a good idea to find professional help so you can get to the bottom of what's behind this.Health Question & Answer

You know you don't want people to answer that, you put this question on here cuz you want people to know that you are hurting and you don't know what to do. NOWHERE that is a good plave to cut. Sweetie i don't know why you are cutting, i use to cut myself to deal with stress but after i was done i thought to myself "what good way this" Cutting doesnt solve anything or make things better. You need to talk to someone get some help. Ill be praying for youHealth Question & Answer

When I feel like cutting I cut my hair.
Talk to a school counselor if you can't talk to your mom. If your mom has medical insurance it's most likely that psychological services are covered. My initial appointment was with my physician. She started me on my meds and monitored me till I found a psychiatrist.
All shrinks aren't stuck up, some are arrogant too. The first one I saw told ME how I was feeling and what my problems were. He got an F from me for not getting anything right.
I do see a different psychiatrist a few times a year and I'm going to counseling.

Well my friend did it there but I would tell you from experience that self-harm only gets worse and worse until it spirals out of control.

I started with pin scratching and a couple of years later on I ended self-harm with a huge scar right across my wrist. I have to wear wristbands whenever I go out as the scar never healed properly. I have a piece of skin on my arm that is a different colour to the rest of my arm because I scalded the skin off with 90 celsius water while in psych ward.

In short, self-harm doesn't help. It, more often than not, gets worse and worse.

Please get treatment for your underlying issues.Health Question & Answer

it's not that the people here don't understand. it's that they see that you have an urgent problem that needs to be helped before you lose control. nobody is going to give an answer on how to hurt yourself more effectively, that's bull. the people who are answering you right now are people who genuinely worry about you and want you to get better.

i personally think that you posting this question is your own way of trying to get help. you can argue that all you want, but you can't deny that you have to get help. tell your parents, or tell someone you trust, and most of all, contact someone whose job is to help.

don't think that the world doesnt care, because that's not true.
please don't do anything stupid.Health Question & Answer
