How to go about getting counseling for anxiety...?!

Question: How to go about getting counseling for anxiety....?
I work at a job that does not provide insurance, and I've been trying to get a job that will eventually provide it, but I feel I need pyschiatric/pyschological counseling and am wondering if there are any available affordable resources.

I don't make much money, but realize my life will improve greatly if I can somehow get counseling, so am curious if there are cheap ways to go about receiving pyschological counseling. Oh, I live in the US if that makes any difference.

Thanks for any responses in advance. Health Question & Answer

If you're in college, your school should have a counseling or health center that may offer free or low-cost counseling. If you graduated, check w/them anyway bcuz they probably can refer you to a local resource. Or check the website or yellow pages for the county you live in, and find their Social Services or Health Services department. They should have services or referrals you can afford. If neither of those work, call a local physician or health clinic and ask them. Just keep asking until you find someone who knows.Health Question & Answer

But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....
