How do I overcome my paranoia? is it possible at all?!

Question: How do I overcome my paranoia.? is it possible at all.?
Mostly it's elevators. I nearly had a panic attack last time I was in one because it started beeping for too many people being in it. I'm afraid the cable or something will snap and we'll fall to our deaths.

Then comes planes. I'm afraid it will blow up or crash.

Last, but not least, cars. One night I had my feet up on the dashboard while my Mom was driving and she told me to take them down because she said if we had a crash, my legs might get ripped off. I started panicking saying I'd never go in a car again, but I did, but it still scares me to think of that.

My next paranoia, well I don't know if that's what i'd call it, but I'm afraid of being rejected.

I wanna be brave, but it's so hard. Is there any way to get over paranoia.?

Thanks,

That's not paranoia; that's phobias. You have a lot of phobias. You need to either face your fears, or go see a shrink and possibly they can help you. I used to be utterly terrified of heights, until I finally bit the bullet one day and jumped off of one of those gigantic high dives at the public pool. I was scared out of my mind, but after I did it a few times, I just wasn't that worried about it anymore. And I'm not nearly as fearful now if I'm up high somewhere. Just ride in as many elevators as you can.

First of all acknowledge the fact that paranoias are pretty common. In fact you're not alone. I think you can try to expose yourself to your paranoias gradually until you'll get over it (slowly, but you'll keep moving in the direction)- this is what you'll do in a therapy. You can try other ways that reduce panic in general. You can also see a doctor and combine it with natural waysHealth Question & Answer

Don't worry about it.
You just have to convince yourself that nothing will happen.
Some times I think about the fact that gravity could reverse, and it scares the hell out of me.
But is it about to happen.?
No, its not.
So just convince yourself that it won't happen, and you should have nothing to worry about =DHealth Question & Answer

Face all of them. Just keep going in the car everyday youll forget about it. when your in the eleveter just hum. and in a plane close your eyes and pretend your at home laying in bed. rejection is hard just try to stay away from that oneHealth Question & Answer

I am a naturally paranoid person as well, so I know where you're coming from. I think you should consider therapy. Talking with a therapist could really help with your inner fears and issues. Hope I helped.Health Question & Answer

These are common fears.

If its not causing difficulty living normally, your just being a hypochondriac.Health Question & Answer

You might want to see if you have "anxiety". People who have anxiety often fear many things, There is medication for it.Health Question & Answer

Well, look at it this way: If you die, you die. If you go to hell, that's your fault. If you go to heaven, good for you.
But almost all those things you said were engineered over many years, and were improved so that we people now don't have to worry about what I said earlier all the time.
Elevators have a weight limit set so that it's not at it's maximum capacity when it goes up and down.
You shouldn't have your fu-in feet on the dashboard, and you probably won't get hurt in an accident if you follow what people tell you in cars and other places
And planes have also been improved GREATLY over the years, mostly in safety. They tell you those things on every flight cause they have to legally.Health Question & Answer

Those, I believe are very common things to be afraid of. I myself am afraid of being in a car crash. It's something that you have to gradually over come. When you are in an elevator occupy your mind with something else. For instance, think of what you are going to do once you get out of the elevator or what you will be doing tomorrow. Slowly you'll learn to forget about the elevator. Planes are the same way. Something else you could try in them is to force yourself to look out the window. As the seconds go by with nothing happening you'll be fine. It's really a slow process. You just have to find out what's best for you.Health Question & Answer

I hear you on the elevator issue, I always hate going on elevators or escalators, so I take stairs :/. It's not paranoia I think, at least the first few don't seem to be. They seem to be more like anxiety and phobias.

You're too fatalistic. I usually just keep myself distracted or try to avoid situations where I'd get anxious, like the stairs example I gave above ^^.

You'll probably grow out of it, too... I'm starting to.

also, to use a cliche, you should eventually face your fears when you feel ready to. You should take elevators more often, and try to see that nothing really will happen. Being with people at this time also helps, I think, somewhat, because they can kind of bring you out of your little bubble of anxiety and kind of distract you.Health Question & Answer
