What do you think about this in regards to advancement?!

Question: What do you think about this in regards to advancement.?
Do you think that accepting the position that is paying the better bucks with no bachelor degree is better than going to college and taking mediocre, lower-paying jobs right now.?

I had a mishap in a professional program last year and right now I cannot get into another program until September of next year. In the meantime, my family is telling me to take this time and think about what to do. I am 50 and about to accept a position but it is not what I was used to making in the government. If I go back to the gov, it will take forever for them to hire and by the time I get started it will be September before you know it.

Does this plan sound stupid or give me your opinion.

Since I don't have a CNA certification and until I get it, I will work in community services with the mentally challenged and disabled which does not require certification. Since I have an associate in English, I will do some teacher's assistance with emotionally challenged high schoolers also.
I will do this to catch up on some bills and save for September.
While doing these programs, I will gain more experience for my resume, money and help someone. I have been emotionally disturbed for 26 years due to something that happened between me and my mother. However, I have recovered from the disturbance and I feel that helping others will help me even more.

These positions are not what I am used to but I feel that even though they pay far less they are beneficial to me and the persons in need.
I want to use the rest of my time to the fullest before September.

There are a lot more benefits to a job than just the paycheck. I like choice #2. You're getting job satisfaction and it sounds like there are a lot of benefits to you.

If you go back to school and earn your degree (I think that was the question), will it be able to get you a better job.? Will you be happy in that field.?

On the other hand, I don't know how much time you spend in the government. Do you have a lot of time in.? Are you really close to hitting 20 years.? If you were really close, it might be more worthwhile to keep on plugging away until a chance opens up.Health Question & Answer
