Question: What could i do.? to cheer myself up.?
i'm 13 and i just got through cancer , shingles , and my mom and dads divorce within the past 2 years...i live with my dad and he is never home because he has to pay my mom 400$ a week! and my brother is off running around. what could i do so i can cheer up i am fighting depression i dont wanna be like them my friend is already deperresed =(.Health Question & Answer

Okay I am 16 and well I have kidney cancer and I cut. I've been in and out of treatment for depression anxiety cutting and attempting suicide. I want to be a counselor so I have read a lot of material. First you need to do stuff that you know will distract you right now you are more important than any thing so worry about you getting better. If you are in school and your grades are slipping that is a sight that you need help also. Mental any thing can be helped you are the only one that can do it all so. The main thing is just go out live life and when you feel down just dance around and sing even if you know you suck I mean every one can make some kind of noise come out if there mouth. But just stay positive and live life cause you only have one so have fun with it all you can.Health Question & Answer

I am so sorry for all that you have gone through a such a young age. You need to talk to your mom or dad and tell them you are depressed and that it is affecting your life. If not talk to a trusted adult, possibly a counselor at school. You need to get this out and find someone to talk to preferably a referral to a therapist. Distraction can help a lot - trying to keep your mind off it will help a great deal in the short term. But if you really are feeling low, get in contact with your doctor who help with setting up counselling and such - which may help you in this situation.
