How addictive is Ativan?!

Ativan is in the same class as xanax. I've had anxiety episodes where I've taken xanax or ativan every day long term (same dose) and I'm fine. As long as you are being monitored by a doctor, you'll be fine. I didn't find it particularly addictive. When I stopped taking it, I had to taper off, not stop cold turkey. That will give you withdrawal effects. I went off of it slowly and felt fine. I now take it only when I'm having a panic attack. If it was really going to be addictive or detrimental to your health, your doctor wouldn't give it to you. Just make sure you aren't getting it from a friend or on the streets. if that dosage is prescribed for an existing anxiety disorder, no you'll be fine. in those cases, coming off the drug by weaning is easy and leaves you with very little side effects.

if you are abusing this drug for wieght loss or "high" purposes, yes you are going to find it hard to stop and even harder to not increase your dosage. if you fall into this catergory, i suggest seeing a doctor to wean yourself off the drug and getting into therapy to solve the problem by confronting it instead of hiding it through drug abuse.

I wouldn't suggest doing that much (1mg) every day. You will develop a tolerance towards it anyway.
