Do men ever cry and if I started crying while talking to my MD doctor is there a chance he?!

Question: Do men ever cry and if I started crying while talking to my MD doctor is there a chance he.?
would hug and or cry with me.? I was scared of crying in front of him, I don't want to make him feel uneasy. I have severe depression and can cry at anything sometimes. I am better about it now but I never know. He did give me anti depressents to take for it and when I first told him about feeling depressed he gave me a look like he wanted to cry. He was REAL concerned I could tell that.Health Question & Answer

I don't know your doctor but I would think he might put his arm around you but the crying part I don't think he will becasue it is possible he could cry all day long if he was that sympathetic. But he may like you real well as in like a favorite patient or something and have more concern for you then the other patients. But anything is possible. Health Question & Answer

I don't know your doctor, so it's always a possibility...

However, keep in mind that in the process of training to be a doctor, and his years of experience, your doctor has heard and seen many tragic things. He has probably seen people die. In medical school, he had to cut open a dead person. He has heard many tragic stories from his previous patients.

The about-to-cry look was probably a look of sympathy (of course, I don't know your doctor, so I'm just guessing). I think that it is highly unlikely that he will cry. Most doctors are able to separate their emotions from their work. Don't let the fear of hurting your doctor's feelings cause you to keep your emotions inside. Your doctor is there so that you can share your feelings. Don't be afraid to let loose, and remember that your doctor has probably heard very similar things before.

I think it's sweet that you care about your doctor's emotions, but remember that he's there to help YOU!

I hope I helped!Health Question & Answer

He almost certainly won't hug you or cry with you: that would most likely overstep his role as a doctor.

He will however be absolutely sympathetic to your problems and try to help you in any way he can: he is obviously concerned for your welfare and will try his best to help you. He is a professional and he no doubt has experience dealing with these sorts of issues.
