I'm always isolated, irritated, and depressed?!

Question: I'm always isolated, irritated, and depressed.?
I go to college, and I'm a very social person, normally. I have many friends and I like having fun. But I'm living at home this particular semester with my parents after dorming for 2 years straight (personal reasons). However, for around 4-5 months now, I've been so irritated. It mostly happens at home, but my general behavior at school has also changed slightly (less jokes, more serious behavior). When I'm home, it becomes insane. I just sit in my room, do my work in my room, eat in my room, go on the computer in my room, etc. It's almost as if I don't want contact with my family. When someone opens my door, I become irritated and snap sometimes. also, everything in life just seems super boring. Everything just seems like the same thing over and over - days, classes, people, etc. It's like every experience is exactly the same and just isn't fun at all anymore. And I've never felt like this before. I'm very close to my parents and this kind of behavior is really abnormal for me. I even look back on it and feel ashamed. Help.?Health Question & Answer

Hun, you did not say what the personal reason was for going back home but it sounds like whatever it was you are unhappy about it and taking it out at home on your parents. Misdirecting our anger, whether we are mad at ourselves or someone else, is just a human action, but one we can change. You are at a rough place in school, where the end is in sight but it seems to take forever. You may want to "start your real life" and may be frustrated at the sameness of it all now. You have to miss the life of living at school and the freedoms that gave you.

Take a break and go out and do something for yourself. Tell your parents what you are feeling...they are still your parents and do care about you. Go out for a walk when you are feeling irritated. Change your routine.

Good luck, my thoughts are with you.Health Question & Answer
