How can i get over my bad anxiety/depression and still smoke weed?!

Question: How can i get over my bad anxiety/depression and still smoke weed.?
I've been depressed for the past couple years ago and attempted suicide almost a year ago and im pretty sure im better now but im not completely convinced. See, i smoke weed everyday, ushually a couple times a day, but the problem is i get nothing done.

On the other hand, when i don't smoke i get really stressed, then pissed, then agitated and shakey, then i have really negative thoughts that turn into suicidal thoughts, and then i cry. And the shitty thing is, it can be only one day that i dont smoke and it still happens, which is exactly what happened today. AND, on top of everything, this "cycle" ushually takes place at school and its pretty emberessing the day after. What should i do!.?!.?

( also, i already see a psychiatrist, ive been on anti depressants and dont want to go back on, and i still want to smoke weed :/)Health Question & Answer

I broke down at school too. it sucked.

yeah try not to smoke weed anymore. or at least try to moderate to once a week on the weekends or something. and then gradually taper off it. If you dont want to stop completely, save for the holidays, or special occasions. i kno it is hard to put down.

It might seem far off, but if you want to study at a university, you will have to learn how to put down the weed, and get your work done. It is much much better to start practicing self control now.

because youre susceptible to depression and anxiety, smoking weed is not a good idea, esp. if you are getting high multiple times a day. You sound like you are psychologically dependent, like I once was. i finally broke down in the mirror one day, and realized "staying high" was killing what was left of my mental health.

You can't let it have any control over you. you have to get control over It. good luck, i know its tough, but you can do it. Health Question & Answer

I have a friend who's been to quite few psychiatrists and then reseached quite a lot on the internet as he had anxiety and panic attacks and tried a product that involves no medicine, all natural cure.

It revolutionerised anxiety as its now the leading cure (unfortunate side is limited people only know about this cure) and he said it totally worked for him and for a quite a few people he knew! He looks like a new person

Family history and genetics play a part in the greater likelihood of someone getting an anxiety disorder in their lifetime. Food sensitivities also contribute to anxiety. Caffeine has been implicated in increasing anxiety levels, especially in individuals predisposed to anxiety. In addition, anxiety frequently follows a sudden withdrawal from alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs.
Biochemistry plays also a role in anxiety. The most significant biochemical disturbance noted in people with anxiety is an elevated blood lactic acid level and increased lactic to pyruvic acid ratio.
There are at least six nutritional factors that may be responsible for elevated lactate levels or lactic acid to pyruvic acid ratios:

1. Alcohol
2. Caffeine
3. Sugar
4. Deficiency of the B-vitamins niacin, pyridoxine, and thiamin
5. Deficiency of calcium or magnesium
6. Food allergens

Home Care Suggestions

* Support groups can provide a forum for sharing feelings and counseling.
* Try to consciously see the positive side of every situation.
* Learn to control your thoughts. A therapist or support group can provide a long list of possible and helpful phrases to use.
* Try to help yourself. If your mind is powerful enough to create feelings of overwhelming panic when there is no real danger then it is also powerful enough to quell those fears.
* Exercise daily. It is a wonderful outlet for pent up tension and anxiety. Choose something you enjoy and learn to release your emotional fears in a constructive way such as jogging, swimming walking etc.
* Get a deep shoulder and neck massage when your feel an attack is coming.
* Investigate therapies such as self-hypnosis, breathing exercises, music therapies; any of these can control your mind and subsequently the body in avoiding feelings of panic or anxiety.

Keep smoking then. Next time you buy some green, try to pick up a good amount like a qp or hp. Then you should be set for a few weeks without having anxiety over not being high. Don't blame weed for your problems, you can get a lot of stuff done while high. If you really want to change your life and get better, then you need to quit. Getting high doesn't get rid of your problems, it just takes your mind off of them and hides them. But when you're sober they all come back to you hard. You need to deal with your life and get help. It took me 8 years to figure out what I just told you. I used to smoke everyday too, on average about an eighth a day. Now I'm 23 and haven't smoked for a year, and I'm telling you I feel so much better about life. I'm alot happier, and get along better with people. Once in a while I miss getting high, but then I think of all the sh!t that went along with it and know I'm making the best decision to be sober.Health Question & Answer

You need to see a good cognitive behavioural therapist so as to alter the way you think. Your unconcious thoughts that rise from your core beliefs that were formed in your early childhood, are what cause your anxiety. Though this sounds an easy process it is not, for cognitive behavioural therapy to be effective the person in therapy is required to put in a great deal of effort and often the process is confronting.

As for smoking weed i'm sure the psychiatrist informed you that weed is a depressent and decreases your mood. If you were better able to cope with anxiety you would not find yourself in the visicous cycle you described.

Hope this helps :-)Health Question & Answer

Mucho Gusto... I feel your pain sweetheart. You've gotta go cold turkey until you get your life together. Pick yourself up sister! Don't put yourself down. Marijuana is known as a downer, scientifically a "depressant". What is the root word.? Listen I'm 18yrs old and everything went down hill for me when I was your age, because I smoked way too much, and cried myself to sleep. You need to leave intervals in your bud use. Try this do not smoke until youve achieved a weekly goal. When you smoke and your life's a mess, it only goes downhill from there.Health Question & Answer

Well weed is bad for you and it's probably a reason your depressed. Most people smoke weed to calm down, but what they don't understand is that it just makes them more depressed in the long run. I'm not sure what to say about the seeing the psychiatrist and that your still seeing no affect. If you keep smoking its going to make your depression worse even if you think it makes you feel better. You also probably psych yourself out into thinking the only way to feel better is to smoke weed. I have been somewhat depressed before but how I usually make myself feel better is to drink allot of coffee and surround myself with fun people, or watch and really funny movie. My uncle smoked weed and ended up dieing of a heart attack. And I would take thought into Meditating, if you cant do this on your own I would try to find the nearest Buddhist temple and find someone to help you there. That is unless you aren't in favor of Buddhism or religion at all. But I'm just saying that those are the best ways to calm me down. I hope you are doing better and hope you take into thought of what I said. Have a good day, in wishes. Health Question & Answer
