Narcolepsy is pretty serious...
Like if it's just a "Oh, I take a nap every day after school and I have a hard time waking up." kinda thing, then you might not be eating right, could be sleeping your problems away or various other things, but if it's a "I was putting up my halloween lights the other day and fell asleep on the ladder." kinda thing, then I suggest you see a doctor. For real.

My dad has narcolepsy in a crazy way, he is prescribed ridiculously dangerous medications to regulate his sleep cycle, and the ladder situation I just described actually happened to him, only he's an electrician and he was running wires through a roof, when he fell asleep.
Sometimes he falls asleep halfway through flipping open his phone, or backing into the driveway.
If this sounds like you, you should at least give your doctor a call.Health Question & Answer

It's funny you put your questino in mental health.

Obviously, your body wants to sleep more than you want to let it sleep. Are you sure your body isn't right.?

First off, see your regular doctor. There are a variety of medical issues that can cause drowsiness.

Try to talk to a psychiatrist. There are lots of mental health issues--like depression--that cause you to want to sleep too much.

I have one pair of shoes, my sneakers, that kind of energize me. When I have trouble getting awake, putting those shoes on gets me going.

They say that smelling coffee makes you alert.

It might be a good idea to see your doctor and have a physical and some blood work done. Maybe something medical is going on.
If you are OK medically, sleeping too much can be a sign of depression. I hope you get things straightened out so you will feel better. Best Wishes.Health Question & Answer

look into your diet. Are you missing nutrients.? Look into your sleep habits. Do you go to bed and rise at the same time.? Look into your physical activity. Do you exercise.? If you answer that all of these are in check, go see a doctor.Health Question & Answer
