What are underlying issues?!

Question: What are underlying issues.?
Answers:
Underlying issues are those matters that are the causative agents for human behavior. They are hidden under many layers of emotions and other mental processes and are not easily discerned by the casual onlooker. (Sometimes they are not readily known by an individual either).

Underlying issues are developed from what happened to an individual in the past or from what he/she observed from the events others experienced. Underlying issues are the source for some conflicts and they influence all our decisions.

For example, a boss may not readily understand why one staff member shouts at him and reluctantly obey orders. There is obviously no trace of unfairness done to the staff and that staff member even voted him as top boss.

The underlying issue however is that the boss looks like her ex-boyfriend which she still hates.

It is therefore very important when in a conflict etc. that you do not take the reactions and comments of others personal and to to refrain from developing guilty feelings. In most cases it is unprofitable to try and be a person "pleaser" by offering compliments and gifts in order to solve a conflict or unpleasant circumstance.

Its always best to get to the root of the matter by investigating a person's history and getting him/her to express their feelings. The next stage is to have them replace previous emotions linked with the underlying issue with positive ones or best yet have the person learn not to transfer their negative emotions to new circumstances.

When a person cannot unearth the underlying issues then its best to avoid or remove the persons, events etc that cause conflict to raise its ugly head. Otherwise, brace yourself for the inevitable, move quickly to the next item in the agenda and say a quiet prayer for those persons with underlying issues or BAGGAGE.
Health Question & Answer

It's the term for why a person does something without being fully aware of it. One way to cure bad habits and behavior is to become AWARE of why you do it more fully.

Let's take self harm, a big issue for young women today. I can think of 4 most common underlying issues that could cause a person to cut, burn or otherwise hurt themself.

1. When the past or the future gets overwhelming, people find they need to have something take them away from all that into something RIGHT NOW. The "OW, dammit!" moment of pain snaps the mind back to right now and away from past guilt or future fears.

2. When guilt bothers a person, they may feel the need to be punished somehow, and self harm is often a way to do this.

3. It can be that a person has something inside they just can't find any other way to get out, a pain, a trauma, and screaming obscenities in public just seems too embarrassing.

4. And most awkward to discuss but very common, sometimes pain and the rush of sensation can be a way to deal with romantic/sexual tensions.

It can be any one, or a combination. Or sometimes it's something less common.

I hope this helps.?
