I take any suicide threat, especially during an emotionally stressing period seriously. Unfortunately, that's not the biggest problem. While your significant other might be depressed, it's even more difficult, as suicide threats or self injury doesn't save relationships.It's hard for a depressed person to accept someone leaving. I'd strongly suggest you see a counselor with him/her, to help him/her understand how you feel, and help them get some sort of closure without harming themselves. Usually things like that are a plea for help that he thinks he's getting from the romantic relationship but he needs professional help. In that situation there is nothing you can do for him and it's unlikely that he'll actually do it. If you are concerned set a date for yourself to end things and make sure that a mutual friend is there to console him and look after him as he adjusts to life with out you. Health Question & Answer
Tell her she needs to go to a psychiatrist & a professional social worker or psychologist if she's suicidal.
Tell her you believe her & that you will need to call 911 & she'll have to go to the ER.
I suggest you tell her you will need to tell her family also to make sure she's okay because you can't deal with this yourself.

honestly nobody knows. some are serious some are not, usually not. my husband said the same thing. i told him well then i cant help you then. i had to leave. he did drive his motorcycle crazy and crashed, but he is still here. you can tell them not to do it. and you care, but if they will they will, its not your fault. if you really think they will i would get them help. but that is not a reason to stay.
