Question: Could this overdose be deadly.?
I am suppose to take 50 mg of Zoloft each morning. I just took one right now. But as I was taking the medicine, I got the feeling I already took the medicine. So that would mean I took 100 mg. Last time I took over my normal prescription was 75 mg. The effects were bad. I got a little suicidal and had a great deal of emotional swings. Health Question & Answer

That amount of Zoloft will not be deadly, some people take much higher doses. You might want to call your doctor and let him/her know. also if it will help ease your mind call the pharmacy where you got the prescription and let them know, that way you can be assured that you will be ok. I am also going to suggest that you get yourself a small pill box, one that has a little compartment for each day of the week. This will help you to keep track of your medications so you don't second guess yourself about whether you took your meds or not. I say that from experience. It is common for people to accidentally take an extra dose because they forgot if they took their meds or not. No just double the dosage is not going to kill you nor should it make you feel suicidal. How long have you been on zoloft. You do realize that antidepressants have the side effect of feeling suicidal. You need to check with your doctor ASAP. The amount of zoloft that you are taking is not the maximum.

No. I believe Zoloft, like all meds, are dispensed at different dosages. You just took a higher dose. You will be fine. Just be more careful.Health Question & Answer
