In my personal experience moving doesnt make you happier. You get depressed because of your feelings and the way you cope with things. That will be with you wherever you go so you need to begin to work on the causes of your feelings.

Often when you least feel like getting out and doing something is when you most need to. If you dont you'll get stuck in a cycle-you get down so you stay in, then you get more down because you're not doing anything stimulating. I find when Im really low even a short walk out can sometimes help lift my mood when nothing I do inside can.

It may be a good idea to see a dr and considering going on another type of anti-depressant, some people have to try a few before they find the one that's right for them.

Counselling, excercise and a healthy diet are all also things that can have a positive impact on depression.

Dianetics procedure can help you understand yourself, why you are the way you are, where difficulties come from and what to do about it. How to take control of your mind and the adverse reactions the unconscious mind plays upon you, without your willingness or knowledge. You can increase your mental potential, handle some unwanted problem like stress or depression and achieve confidence and happiness.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....

I strongly suggest you get help and avoid the hospital system if you can.

occupy yourself and be social, success is always good too.
write down things that you want to do and need to do
and aim to complete them.
keep note of how you're feeling.
also, it sometimes helps to have a way of letting people around you know how you're feeling as it often helps both you and them to know what sort of mood you're in and how to approach you...
