Question: I am confused, sad and I don't know what to do or if I should do anything... Can someone please help me!.? .?
I'm a 20 year old college student; I haven't had the easiest life; in fact I've had a pretty hard one. I was sexually abused for 2 years by my older cousin who used to push tools (hammer, screwdriver and wrench) inside of me... I was sexually assaulted at the age of 16, he attacked me from behind, cut my sternum open, raped me, and left me there to die... I was in school one day when some idiot came into the building and started shooting randomly at anyone and everyone in the cafeteria. Did I also forget to mention I've tried to kill myself 5 times, and I cut away the pain by cutting my arms open on a regular basis. Attempting to deal with this past of mine was very difficult until I met one of my teachers. She's helped me in so many ways, and has helped give me hope that things will one day be okay (I know it's not her job to help me in that way, but it appears that she really is okay with our situation, and has no problem speaking to me, and helping me.)
I e-mailed her 5 days ago; and I've never gone long than 24 hours without an email from her; and she cancelled her classes both last Friday, and tomorrow... I'm worried something might have happened; and I'm worried both for her and my mental sanity... I can't seem to understand what's going on, and why doesn't she want to answer me ...

Someone help, suggestions, or possible ways to attempt to speak to her might help to put me at ease.Health Question & Answer

Its possible that she had a family emergency (maybe just a small one) and is at a family member's house where she has no internet access. I know my grandparents never had computers at home and they didn't even know what the internet was. She may just be in a place where she can't easily get to a computer. And if she hasn't been near a computer, then she hasn't checked her email! She may not know she has one from you. I don't think she is ignoring you.
But, if you have a problem that is so bad that you are scared for yourself, please don't hesitate to go to the emergency room or a psychiatric clinic. If you work yourself into a state where you are cutting yourself or hurt yourself because you are worried about her or if you get suicidal, go to the ER, they can give you something to help you calm down.
I know it doesn't solve your problem now, but consider talking to someone else even though you can still talk to your teacher. You should talk to a psychiatrist. They can help. I promise. I am bipolar and depended on a boyfriend the way you are depending on your teacher. They can help alot, I know, but so can a professional. So if you can't calm down soon, try talking to a doctor.
But, in regard to your teacher, she is probably just somewhere without internet access and doesn't realize that you need her right now. I am sure she is fine and will be so happy to help you when she gets back to her email.Health Question & Answer

Hey Chiara, You are going to be OK. It sounds like you have had a pretty hard past, and I am so sorry you have had to go through those things. I am 22 and have a pretty rough past myself, you are so strong for dealing with this and you can make it because of how strong you are. I don't think that she is not answering you because she doesn't want to talk to you! Sounds like maybe something came up, but she is probably thinking of you too. It can't be something to serious because if it was she would not of been able to cancel her classes, maybe she had a family emergency. Do you have her cell phone number, or her home phone.? I know you don't know me but if you need someone to talk to you are more than welcome to email me! My yahoo address is Divi.vica@yahoo.com. I hope this helps hun and remember you are going to be OK.Health Question & Answer

You have survived some horrible things. No matter what else happens in life always remember that you.are.a. survivor. You are in college, you are safe, and you are working on your future...I'm proud of you! Hold on to that okay.?
You are concerned about your teacher and she's probably fine but use this time to strengthen your self mentally so you can show her you can stand on your own. Even if it's a few days or a few weeks. You can do it cause you have survived some real ugliness. If it gets to be to much reach out to someone you feel comfortable with, one of your teacher's associates or a person you can trust.
I'm praying for you chick!! Stay strong and remember to do things that make you feel good. Sunshine, running, cooking, skating, exercise, akido, boxing, dancing, volunteering, etc. Only feel good things! no escaping with books, computer, video games, or movies until you have to okay.?
Take care of your self always!!! Health Question & Answer
