How to fix a studdering problem..?!

Question: How to fix a studdering problem...?
when I talk, sometimes I can't get the words out of my mouth.
I know what I want to say, but its almost like my mouth won't say it.
I know it sounds weird, I'm not sure what it is.

Its almost like I can't get what I want to say out of my mouth, thing is, I wouldn;t call it studdering.

My mom says "my mind moves faster than my mouth"

But I'm tired of being this way, because it affects me in class. Like I'll know the answer to a question, but I won't raise my hand in fear I'll studder or not be able to get the words out of my mouth.

help.? advise.? is it studdering.? help!Health Question & Answer

Yes, some people can be cruel but I think it is due to the high amount of dissatisfaction they have about themselves or life in general. Specifically, if the best they can offer is sour comments than they must have a lousy life, which is really sad. Chin up and be thankful you are living life on the positive side and know they are only hurting themselves.
As for stuttering, I remember reading an article in guidposts and also a clip in the movie The Notebook where they practice reading poetry or some other form of writing in front of the mirror. I could see how this works because you are able to watch your lips move to the sounds which can condition you to speak fluently without stuttering.Health Question & Answer

Stuttering is usually connected with emotion, the more emotional you are, the more you will stutter... so best things is to slow down, take it easy, and think of the words before you speak. I have the same thing sometimes.. my inner brain talks 10 times faster than my mouth.Health Question & Answer

your fear of it will only make it worse. if it were me I would see a doctor and let him or her decide if I was stuttering. but don't let all these other answers bother you. there are ways you can stop it. try talking to yourself in the mirror. take one step at a time. one word and one sentence at a time. most of the time all someone needs is a little confidence.
best wishes

I think you should think about EXACTLY what you want to say. Then think through in your head how you want to say it, then say it. But you should not avoid raising your hand just because you are afraid of stuttering. Just think through a few times what you are going to say. BTW!! some guys think its cute when you do that! :-PHealth Question & Answer

Yes you can do something about it. You need to find out about speech therapy for people who studder. Every person who studders is different then the other. I don't know if it cures the problem but it is known to make a big improvement in time.Health Question & Answer

It's good to go to a speech doctor and get some help for stuttering.

Just every now and then try saying this out loud:

He thrusts his fists upon the posts and still insists he see's the ghosts.

Once you can say that out loud, it should help you.Health Question & Answer

Talk to your doctor. There are medications out there that can help with your problem. I think certain depression meds are used for your condition. I know that some doctors are using botox to help with studdering. Only your doctor can tell you for sureHealth Question & Answer

I think my friend has this problem. Anyways, try some exercises, see a professional, or see a speach teacher for help. Don't worry, you're not alone. Several people have this problem but it's normal. Trust me.Health Question & Answer

it's a processing thing in your brain. i had a bf that was like that. it's not studdering cause it's not like "i can't t-t-t-t-talk" it's more like the words get lost by the time they get to your mouth, right.?

my bf hasn't gotten over, but he said that so long as he thought each sentence out completely before trying to say it, it helped. sort of like a mini rehearsal. it's annoying if you have a lot to say, but for a quick answer a question in class it might help.

also, i've heard that singing on a regular basis helps with stuttering and speech problems. it uses more than just the language centers in the brain so the extra neural activity helps boost along the words, and it's possible that it helps repair or boost the nerves in the language centers of the brain. so you might try singing a lot. and i mean a lot, like every day.

best of luck to you!Health Question & Answer

practice talking in the mirror, or around your family and friends. If it helps talk a little more slowly then you normally would. Take a deep breath and relax. Sometimes when im really nervous, "my mind moves faster than my mouth", and i stutter too. It takes practice. You'll be fine though, its not something permanent =) and you don't need a doctor, its not a disease lol. maybe a little self conscious but nothing big, everyone goes through that, i did. I still get nervous in class sometimes but its something you got to practice like i said. Keep putting yourself in social situations to get used to the attention or speaking in front of people. Good luck! =)Health Question & Answer
