Please help with my problems ..need advice....?!

Question: Please help with my problems ..need advice.....?
i just found out my grandfather has cancer and the doctor says it too far gone to even think about chemo etc and he is going to a specialist in December as the doctor thinks he may have bowel cancer as well as prostrate.. this is really upsetting me, pa doesn't understand what you talk about anymore he doesn't even know he has got cancer he thinks its diabetes , i lost my grandma years ago and didn't take it too well then, i hope he is okay as i don't want to loose another loved one ,, i have already lost enough loved ones as it is.

i really hope this doesn't affect my mental illness as i have been not feeling well so far since finding out i have had a anxiety attack and feeling down and bummed out i can't seem to get happy i do have Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD.

i have made a happy box and write things that i am thinking about and put them in the box as this helps me.

any advice is welcome! what should i do in the meantime.?Health Question & Answer

Girl you sound just like me it's almost scary. I lost my Nana 2 weeks ago and we were super close, she also passed of cancer. We just found out a month ago that she had cancer and were told it was too advanced to try any treatment, she passed away 14 days after we found out, she went so fast she did not even know what hit her. I am 32 yrs old so I have had her ALL my life, so I am sure you can imagine how hard it is.
I also am on depression pills due to my post par-tum I had with my daughter so I was super scared when I knew she was dying I thought I would fall back into my depression but thank god I have not. Naturally you are going to miss him with all of your heart but please take the time to tell him you love him and you will be ok with out him... I finally did that and my Nana passed while I was holding her. My point is that this is a part of life, I know it;s hard but it will get better, the pain will lessen and the memories will always survive! Take it easy and spend as much time with him as you can/1Health Question & Answer

Spend as much time with your grandfather as you can, let him know you love him.
Try try try to focus on the good things you have in your life. Easier said than done.Health Question & Answer

I am schizo and when my nephew and bro got killed in a car accident my treatment team was right there. I don't even know who called them but they showed up at my house that day. I would suggest you get your social worker and doctor on the phone and let them know that you are going to lose someone and you need help to get through it. Death is a part of life, it is just harder for us with mental illness to deal with. I won't go into how I got through the deaths of my nephew or my grandad because it was not healthy, but you should just call your social worker.Health Question & Answer
