Zoloft had a strange affect on me as well. I started taking it for anxiety. For some reason, it made me very hyper, confrontational and downright rude (lol). I know that sounds weird. I'm usually the COMPLETE opposite.

They say sometimes it takes a while to adjust. But if you feel you absolutely can't handle it, it's probably not for you. I know it wasn't for me, I gave it lots of time and nothing ever changed.

I had much better luck with Prozac for my anxiety.Health Question & Answer

I used to take zoloft a long time ago. Now I am back on it due to depression and anxiety. I am also on Ativan for anxiety. Zoloft made me feel like a zombie the first few days. I felt wide awake, almost out of my body, couldn't sleep, etc. It is getting slightly better now, because the way it was before I was thinking of discontinuing it. Now it's a bit better but if I didn't have ativan, i still wouldn't be able to sleep at night. It also seems to be making the ativan less effective.

Talk to your doctor. I see mine soon and I'll definitely bring this up.Health Question & Answer

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....
