Do I need serious help? ?!

Question: Do I need serious help.? .?
I have tried everything to get relief. Sometimes it helps, but I slip back into my depressive/suicidal mode soon after.

I have struggled to get the help and I have told my mother this.

I really need some kind of help I can't wait anymore. It seems the only way to get this help is to try to kill myself so they will send me somewhere.

It sounds stupid but I don't know what else to do..help.? Health Question & Answer

You need to start seeing a therapist regularly. also, I'd recommend seeing a psychiatrist - an MD who will be able to prescribe medication if necessary. Don't get discouraged. It's hard, I know - I've totally been there. But you can't give up on yourself. In the worst moments, you are truly your only advocate. You have to take initiative, even when you are sapped of motivation, and really start working to get better. It will get better. I'm speaking to you from the other side of a depressive slump. When in the chasm of it, it seems inescapable, but seriously - it gets better. Start seeing a doctor.Health Question & Answer

Ok, no.1 dont kill yourself, you'll go to hell.
you should really try talking to your friends or making some new friends.
if you go to school and they bully you, tell your mother and say its not working and youll be outta there in no time.
theres a lot of things in life that people miss.
the aim to higher confidence in life is to look at everything in a simpler more positive way. If someone mutters something negative about the way you look, think about how bad her hair etc. the answer is not killing yourself. you have family (i thingk) and i dont think they want you dead.
just be happy that there are more people out there and not everyone/everything is like what you are going through.

You don't need to be to hard on yourself because you think you need help. As programs like Dr Phil are on there have been more and more people getting some form of help. It does not have the stigma that it once had.
There are many help lines you can ring. They are around for all sorts of people with problems and that probably your best place to start. There you can voice your concerns and get advice from someone you can talk to rather then just type a question to.
Most of the lines are free and the people are a little bit more trained then you would find here. I hope you do talk to someone and I wish you the best.

I have tried to kill myself before unconscously. Let me tell you....being put in a phsychiatric acute center for trying to kill yourself is not the way to get help and attention. They keep you there legally against your own will with rapist, meth and heroin addicts, killers, and you are forced to stay with them in a small living room with no TV no privelages to go outside, flourecent lights, mean nurses and very uncomfortable beds. It's humiliating and it hurts you very deep. Don't do it. It will haunt you for years to come. It's been 2 years and people have been treating me like dirt and a 12 year old(i was 20 when it happened). It just get's worse. Your innocence get's taken away and people are too cautious around you and it drives you nuts and makes you worse. I have bad dreams still about people taking me away and locking me up.

I would try and get help NOW. look online for a phsychiatrist or ask the hospital if there is a mental health treatment program in your area where you live. They can give you insurance and a list of places that give you therapy and medication for free nearby where you live if you qualify for it. i think in the hospital they call it the DES office to apply for insurance. Or if you have insurance you can call a doctor or even your family care physician can put you on some medication now and refer you.

Please don't give up. Don't end up like me. There is hope during these worse times :) Please contact me if you need some more help or want to ask a question.Health Question & Answer
