When i was 15 I was diagnosed with anorexia.. but i had it a year before i was diagnosed.. and I know that.. All i know that getting help really helped me. but i don't think you have to be diagnosed to have an eating disorder. If you have problems with food or have irrational behavior towards eating.. then yes you have an eating disorder.. even if you haven't been diagnosed. x?xHealth Question & Answer
No, people can be ill without being diagnosed. Just because someone hasn't been diagnosed with cancer doesn't mean they don't have it...but until a doctor diagnoses them (or the eating disorder) it's tough to get proper treatment.
Someone who is emaciated may have an eating disorder, but that isn't the only reason someone may look like that. Certain other diseases/issues can cause severe weight loss.

I presume just being diagnosed with it means that it has been discovered and recognised... Maybe getting help will involve being diagnosed with it... I'm not so sure really sorry!Health Question & Answer
