What medicines are prescribed the most for anxiety?!

Question: What medicines are prescribed the most for anxiety.?
Answers:
there are many different types...you have your benzo's valium, xanax, ativan and klonopin which are highly addictive. there are safer meds like the one i am on Vistaril. it is an anti-anxiety medication that works just as well as the benzo's but without the risk of becoming addicted to it. i am on klonopin but the lowest dose and only when needed. i haven't had the script refilled yet and it's been 2 months. some doctors will give anti-depressants to help with anxiety. it just depends on the level of your anxiety and your doctor.

btw ~ benzo's stands for benzodiazepines

i wish you all the best....good luck. living with anxiety is hell. i have lived and suffered with it for over 25yrs. i hope you get the help you need.

hugs,

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....
