Okay... you know that an insecure person tends to avoid an eye contact, right.?.? They avoid eye contact coz its awkward.. Well for me this is what happened... When i look ppl in the eye while talking to them.. the thought of "people cant look straight coz they're awkward" enters my mind and coz of that it made me avoid eye contact too and made me awkward when in fact im not at all... You know what.? The same thing has happened to me before, so I understand how you feel. Just try to focus on what is being said and don't let your mind wander. Instead of thinking that thought, replace it with something like, "I am strong and confident". That way, how you feel will come across as how you act. Good luck, and don't worry; you'll be back to normal soon.Health Question & Answer

You do that because you feel anxious and stressed. You may have social anxiety, or for some reason feel shame. Try forcing yourself into looking people in the eye, it will help you build confidence, and people will respond more positively to you.
If getting awkward became automatic to you, then the opposite must be true; looking at people with confidence and honesty must be capable of becoming automatic too. You just need practice.
Good luck:)Health Question & Answer
